Is the Audio-Technica AT875 Short Condenser Shotgun Microphone a lot better than the Rode video mic?

Will I notice a big difference because I have to buy all this phantom power stuff for the first mic which is expensive. Or is the quality very different that I should buy it anyway. Thanks
