What's a better way of saying "we need to work this out"?

Long story...but I'm writing a letter to my in-laws because they basically hate me which has in turn caused strife in my own marriage. I'm ending the letter and putting the ball in their court, as it were, but the statement "we need to work this out" sounds so lame and generic.
