Is there a text two times rule?

One day I was with my son and I asked him if he was going to send another text to someone we was trying to get a hold of. He said. I already sent two texts. I have to wait for the response. Anything over two texts makes you a douche bag. You always have to wait Dad. I've followed this rule every since but haven't exactly found it to be a rule. And yet I have found it to be a hidden rule. Any feed back?
