My audio technica microphone wont work?

i have a eurorack MX 602A (which is plugged in) for phantom power. my microphone is pluggen into mic 1 and the red and white cords are plugged into tape out and then are plugged into the microphone thing...but when i manage audio devices it says theres a microphone, but it wont pick up sound when i talk. any ideas?
